Double Slit Experiment

A first attempt at a double slit experiment, showing 2D interference fringes from two point sources situated 2 cm from each other recorded on a 20x20 cm 2D PSD. The detector is situated 1 m downstream from the source assembly.

Aliasing occurs since <math>\lambda = 1 \mu m \ll \Delta x</math>, where <math>\Delta x \approx 2 mm</math> is the pixel size of the detector, effectively violating the Nyquist sampling theorem.[1]
